Meet the Chef Kemarty
Chef Kemarty, or Chef "T", has worked many cooking jobs over 25 years in the culinary industry, 13 years of them being at UNC Chapel Hill. At Chapel Hill, he started in the dish room and worked his way up to becoming a cook. He then spent 3 years as a purchasing supervisor.
In March of 2023 Kemarty started working here at Averett University and became Sous Chef for Chef Cameron Reagan.
He was raised by his grandmother who cooked dinner every day. Kemarty would watch her and then eventually started helping her out in the kitchen. She was his biggest fan until she passed away in 2022. Kemarty says he know she would be proud of the things he has accomplished.
